| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a four-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskh script, arranged horizontally across the flan. The legend reads: 'al-Sultan al-A'zam / Toqta Bek / al-'Adl / Darb Saray', proclaiming the supreme sultan Toqta Bek the Just and identifying the Saray mint. The lettering is raised in high relief, with individual characters boldly rendered and separated by small pellets used as line dividers. The coin is bordered by a peripheral circle of pellets enclosing the inscriptional field, consistent with standard Golden Horde hammered silver coinage of this period. |

| Reverse description | The reverse field bears a three-line Arabic Shahada inscription in raised Naskh script, reading: 'La ilaha illa Allah / Muhammad rasul Allah', the Islamic declaration of faith, followed in the lower portion of the field by the AH date numerals 691 or 693. The lettering is boldly struck in high relief against a flat flan, with pellet separators between lines. As on the obverse, the entire design is enclosed within a border of raised pellets following the irregular circumference of the hammered flan. The overall style is consistent with Golden Horde silver dirhams struck at Saray under Khan Toqta. |
