Remnants of the original mint legends and formulaic religious text are discernible in the field, though heavily worn and partially obliterated. The strike is typical of the rough, hand-hammered technique common to thirteenth and fourteenth-century Central Asian silver issues. The flan is noticeably irregular in shape with ragged edges. Surface wear is consistent with extensive circulation prior to countermarking. |
