Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold Arabic religious legend in Maghribi script, reading the Shahada or Tawhid formula, struck in high relief on a flan of irregular outline typical of Moroccan hammered coinage. The script is compact and somewhat angular, characteristic of the Alaoui dynasty mint style. The legends fill the entire field with no border ornament, and the coin exhibits the irregular, roughly circular shape inherent to hand-hammered production. The silver surface shows natural granularity and die-struck relief consistent with late 18th-century Moroccan minting practice.
