Reverse description Reverse field displays a multi-line Arabic-script inscription in the Ottoman style, likely incorporating the mint name Baghdad (بغداد) and the regnal year in the Islamic AH calendar. The legend is arranged concentrically or in stacked horizontal lines within a dotted border. The hammered flan exhibits an irregular planchet shape with typical die-shift and surface patination. Calligraphic execution reflects the provincial Baghdad mint workshop style of the mid-sixteenth century. The overall appearance is consistent with Ottoman silver dirham coinage of the reign of Selim II.
