Obverse description Within a beaded square frame, a facing bust or head is depicted gazing upward, rendered in the bold, somewhat stylized manner characteristic of Artuqid figural coinage. Arabic inscriptions occupy the margins surrounding the central square on all four sides, filling the field between the beaded border of the square and the coin's outer rim. The figural type reflects the dynasty's eclectic artistic vocabulary, blending Byzantine and Islamic iconographic traditions. The overall composition is irregular due to the hand-struck flan, with the relief of the central figure and surrounding legends varying across the surface.
