| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription filling the entire field, presenting the Islamic declaration of faith (Shahada) in bold naskh script. The lines read horizontally across the flan, separated by linear divisions, with the text distributed in two or three registers. The strike displays characteristic unevenness of hammered Mamluk coinage, with some peripheral weakness due to the irregular flan. The overall composition follows standard Mamluk dirham typology for the Aleppo mint during the reign of Qaitbay. |
