Reverse description A standing Byzantine Emperor facing, being crowned by the Virgin Mary (Theotokos) standing facing to his left, both depicted in the Byzantine hieratic tradition. This figural composition is directly adapted from Byzantine imperial imagery and is a hallmark of Artuqid bronze coinage. A circular Arabic genealogical legend of Najm al-Din Alpï surrounds the central figural group, reading in the field and outer margin. The reverse exemplifies the Artuqid dynasty's distinctive synthesis of Byzantine Christian iconography with Islamic epigraphy.

Reverse lettering أبو المظفر ألبي بن تيمورتاش بن الغازي بن أرتوق والد المظفر ألبي بن تيمورطاش بن الغازي بن أرتوق
