| Obverse description | Central field bears a stylized Arabic inscription within a circular border, the hammered flan presenting an irregular outline characteristic of hand-struck Moroccan coinage of the Alaoui dynasty. The design consists of dense Arabic calligraphic elements arranged concentrically, with a prominent geometric motif at the center. The surface shows the typical shallow relief and irregular strike of the period. The legend identifies the sovereign and the shahada in the traditional Moroccan hammered-dirham format. |

| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription set within a circular cartouche, divided by a horizontal bar into upper and lower registers, a hallmark feature of the Moulay Sulayman dirham type. The upper register contains the mint name Fes Hazrat (فاس الحضرة) and the lower register bears the Hijri date of issue. The legend is struck in a bold, somewhat irregular hand-hammered style typical of the early nineteenth-century Moroccan monetary reform coinage. The flan is slightly irregular in shape with softness of detail at the periphery consistent with hammered production. |
