Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic religious inscription enclosed within a geometric square or octagonal frame, the border formed by interlaced or spiraling decorative elements. The inscription, rendered in angular script, includes the Shahadah or mint and regnal formulae typical of Alaoui Sharifian coinage. The irregular flan, characteristic of hammered production, results in a roughly circular planchet with uneven edges. Vestiges of a beaded or linear outer border are partially visible around the framed central area.
