Dirham - Möngke Otrar mint

Beschrijving voorzijde	Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription naming the Great Khan Möngke (Mengü Khan) alongside the honorific title of the Abbasid Caliph al-Nasir li-din-Allah, rendered in bold hammered Naskh script. The legends are arranged in three to four horizontal lines within a raised inner circle. A circular marginal legend surrounds the central field, recording the mint name Otrar (Utrar) and the date of issue. The flan is broad and irregular, typical of hammered Mongol dirhams of the mid-13th century, with a somewhat crude but bold die execution.
