| Obverse description | Central field contains a multi-line Arabic religious legend arranged in three or four lines within a single circular border, reading the Shahada or related Islamic profession of faith. An outer marginal legend in Arabic script runs along the inner edge of a beaded or linear border encircling the coin. The overall design closely imitates Samanid dirham prototypes, with the characteristic arrangement of kufic inscriptions filling the entire obverse field. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, consistent with hammered provincial coinage of the Volga Bulgarian emission. |

| Reverse description | Central field features a multi-line Arabic kufic legend in three or four lines, likely containing the name of the Abbasid caliph and/or the local ruler Mika'il b. Ja'far, arranged in the typical Samanid imitative format. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs within a beaded or linear border around the periphery of the coin. The inscription style and layout directly imitate Samanid silver dirhams of the 10th century. The flan is irregular with a rough edge, characteristic of hammered coinage produced at unofficial or provincial mints. |
