Obverse description Within a double linear circle, the sultan's seal occupies the central field, rendered in bold naskh-style Arabic calligraphy. The marginal legend encircling the central device records the name of the mint city followed by the AH date written out in full. A small gnat symbol appears as an auxiliary device within the field, a distinctive feature of this type. The overall composition is characteristic of late Seljuq of Rum hammered silver coinage, with the flan exhibiting the irregular, slightly cracked edges typical of the series.
