| Beschrijving voorzijde | Struck at the Sivas mint, the obverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in the field. The legend reads 'al-Mulk Li'llah' (Sovereignty belongs to God) in the upper portion, with the mint and date formula 'Zarb Sewas fi sanah sitt wa saba'in' (Struck at Sivas in the year six and seventy [i.e. 676 AH]) occupying the lower register. The script is angular Kufic-influenced Arabic typical of Anatolian Seljuk coinage of the late 13th century. No figural imagery appears; the design is entirely epigraphic, consistent with Islamic numismatic tradition. |
