| Obverse description | Central square frame containing three lines of Arabic Naskh script bearing the Shahada: the first line reads the declaration of faith, the second names the Prophet Muhammad, and the two rosette ornaments flank the central line as decorative separators. The square is enclosed within a dotted border, with a circular marginal legend in the surrounding field carrying the sultan's titles and name — al-Sultan al-A'zam, Ghiyath al-Dunya wa'l-Din, Kaykhusraw ibn Kayqubad — running continuously around the perimeter. The overall design is typical of Seljuk Anatolian epigraphy, with bold, deeply struck characters in a densely composed layout. |
