| Reverse description | Central field divided into horizontal registers of Arabic inscription in Kufic script, presenting the Sunni profession of faith (shahada) and acknowledgment of Abbasid suzerainty. A rectangular border separates the central text from a surrounding marginal legend that runs along the periphery of the flan. The die is well-engraved but the strike is uneven, resulting in areas of weak impression consistent with hand-hammered production at the Nasibin mint. The coin retains its characteristic irregular edge and heavy copper fabric typical of Zangid issues of the late 12th century. |
