Reverse description Multi-line Arabic legend disposed in horizontal registers within a central octagonal frame, itself bordered by a plain inner circle and a dotted outer circle. The field surrounding the octagon is flat and undecorated, typical of late Ilkhanid dirham coinage. The inscription records the mint, date, and/or the name of the reigning Ilkhan Abu Sa'id, rendered in Naskh script in raised hammered relief. The irregular flan and variable strike result in partial legibility of the marginal legend at the dotted border.
