| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script, reading the royal titulature of Khan Toqtamish. The inscription, translating as 'Sultan the Just Toqtamish Khan, may his reign be long,' is arranged across three or four lines filling the flan. The field is framed by a partial dotted border, visible along portions of the irregular circumference. The die-struck lettering is bold in relief, characteristic of late Golden Horde hammered coinage, with diacritical points punctuating the script. |

| Reverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script identifying the mint and the Hijri date. The inscription is arranged in horizontal lines across the flan, translating as 'Mint Saray al-Jadida' with the date recorded as 788 A.H. — a twice-inverted rendering of the intended date 778 A.H. (778→887→788). The field is enclosed by a partial dotted border consistent with the obverse treatment, and the relief lettering shows the characteristic irregularity of hand-struck Golden Horde dirhams. |
