The mint name Qrim (Crimea) and the AH date 794 (1392 CE) appear within or around the central inscription. The script is cursive and densely arranged, consistent with the Crimean workshop's style. The flan edges are ragged and uneven, reflecting irregular hammered production. |

Tochtamysh is best remembered for sacking Moscow in 1382 and briefly restoring Mongol dominance over the Russian principalities, but by 1392 his position was fracturing under sustained pressure from Timur. The Qrim (Crimea) mint remained one of his more reliable revenue sources during this deteriorating period, continuing to strike in his name even as rival khans challenged his authority across the steppe.
The dual Sagdeeva references suggest this type spans a die or legend variation — collectors should cross-check against the Zeno specimen before attributing.
