| Obverse description | Central field bears a five-line Arabic legend in the Nastaliq-influenced script characteristic of Golden Horde coinage, reading 'al-Sultan / al-Adil / Timur Khwaja / Khan / may God perpetuate his reign.' The inscription is set within the plain round flan without a formal border, the lettering boldly struck though somewhat irregular due to the hammered technique.
