Obverse description Central field bears a five-line Arabic legend in the Nastaliq-influenced script characteristic of Golden Horde coinage, reading 'al-Sultan / al-Adil / Timur Khwaja / Khan / may God perpetuate his reign.' The inscription is set within the plain round flan without a formal border, the lettering boldly struck though somewhat irregular due to the hammered technique. The script occupies the full face of the coin, with no figurative devices or ornamental elements present.
