| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse bears a multi-line Arabic legend arranged in three horizontal registers across the field, executed in bold Naskh script typical of Golden Horde coinage. The inscription proclaims the royal titulature of Khan Qulpa, reading 'Sultan the Just Qulpa Khan, may his reign be long.' The lettering is deeply struck with pronounced relief, filling the flan to the margins, with no decorative border visible on this hammered issue. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Qulpa seized the Golden Horde throne in 1359 by murdering his brother Nawruz Beg, then held it for less than a year before being killed in turn. His reign falls squarely in the opening of what Russian historiography calls the "Great Troubles" — a two-decade succession crisis that would see more than twenty khans claim the throne. Coins from his Gulistan mint are accordingly scarce, a direct function of how little time the dies had to work.
