| Obverse description | The obverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription filling the entire field, executed in a bold Naskh script typical of Golden Horde coinage. The legend, arranged in horizontal registers across the flan, reads the full royal titulature of Khan Toqtamish, styled as 'Sultan the Just, Ghiyath ad-Dunya wa ad-Din, Toqtamish Khan.' The die-struck lettering is deeply incused and clearly articulated despite the irregular flan edges characteristic of hammered Jochid dirhams. No border or decorative frame is present, with the inscription extending nearly to the coin's rim. |
