| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse field is occupied entirely by a multi-line Arabic epigraphic legend in an angular Kufic-influenced script, characteristic of Golden Horde coinage of the mid-14th century. The inscription, arranged in three horizontal registers across the irregularly-shaped flan, proclaims the royal titulature of Khan Nawruz Beg, invoking his sovereignty and justice. The script is boldly struck in high relief against a flat, undecorated field, with no border or decorative framing elements visible. Letter strokes are broad and confident, reflecting the hammered die-cutting technique typical of Saray mint production. The overall epigraphic composition fills the flan to its irregular edges, leaving minimal open field. |
