The hammered flan is irregularly shaped with characteristic flat striking surfaces typical of Golden Horde dirhams. No figurative imagery is present, in accordance with Islamic numismatic convention. The lettering is deeply struck with broad strokes, exhibiting the robust calligraphic style favored at the Khwarizm mint during the reign of Muhammad Uzbeg Khan. |
