Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in cursive script, reading the royal titulature of Sultan Muhammad Uzbeg Khan with an invocation for divine prolongation of his reign. The inscription is distributed across three to four horizontal registers filling the flan, with pellet ornaments punctuating the field. The die is characteristic of the irregular hammered coinage of the Golden Horde, with slightly uneven strike and flan edges typical of the Bulghar mint production of the early 8th century AH.
