Reverse description Reverse of this hammered silver dang displaying a partial Arabic inscription in low relief, offset toward the left-center of the irregular flan. The legend, attributable to the mint name Hajji Tarkhan and the AH date 816, is only partially legible due to an off-center strike and the worn condition of the flan. The remainder of the field is flat and largely uninscribed, bearing the characteristic surface marks of a roughly finished hammered planchet. The flan edges show chipping and cracking consistent with the fragile, thin silver flans used in late Golden Horde provincial minting.
