| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script naming Sultan Jani Beg, arranged within a rectangular cartouche or panel typical of Golden Horde coinage. The inscription is framed by decorative linear borders, with the lower portion of the flan adorned by a distinctive pellet or bead border running along the rim. The striking is characteristic of hammered Mongol silver coinage, with some weakness and irregular flan shape. The overall design follows the epigraphic convention standard to Golden Horde dirhams of the mid-14th century. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic epigraphic legend, the precise mint name remaining disputed among scholars: Fraehn read it as Sarai al-Jadida, while Fedorov-Davidov and Sagdeeva proposed Khwarizm, though the Khwarizm reading is now generally considered incorrect by current scholarship. The legend is arranged in horizontal lines within the central field, enclosed by a linear frame and surrounded by a beaded border along the periphery. The flan is irregularly shaped and the strike shows typical off-center characteristics of hammered Golden Horde dirhams. Decorative elements and border treatment conform to the standard typology of Jani Beg-era coinage. |
