Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script, reading the royal title and name of the khan. The inscription is arranged in horizontal registers across the flan, with the name 'Sultan Mahmud Jani Beg Khan' distributed across three or four lines. Small pellet ornaments are visible in the field flanking the text. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, characteristic of hammered Golden Horde silver coinage of this period.
