| Reverse description | Central field bearing a three-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script reading 'Duriba / Saray al-Jadid / 748' (Struck at / New Saray / AH 748), recording the mint name and Hijri date of issue. A prominent interlaced geometric ornament or rosette decorates the centre of the composition, a hallmark device found on Golden Horde silver coinage of this period. The Arabic numeral date ٧٤٨ appears in the lower portion of the field. The coin's irregular flan edge and variable surface relief are characteristic of mid-14th century hammered Jochid dirhams. The legends are enclosed by a lobed or polygonal cartouche border visible around the field. |
