Above the cartouche, a partial marginal legend is visible along the upper rim of the irregular flan. The inscription within the cartouche identifies the place of issue as Saray al-Jadida (New Sarai), the primary mint of the Golden Horde. The flan is notably irregular and slightly clipped, consistent with the hand-hammered production methods standard for mid-14th century Jochid silver coinage. |
