Obverse description Central field features the name and title of Jani Beg Khan rendered in Arabic script within a raised circular border, surrounded by an interlaced or star-form ornamental device. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script encircles the central medallion, carrying the full royal titulature: 'Khagan the Just, Jalal al-Din Mahmud Sultan.' The die is typically struck off-center on an irregularly shaped flan, characteristic of hammered Golden Horde coinage. Pellets serve as decorative separators within the marginal inscription band. The overall style reflects the Central Asian Islamic numismatic tradition of the mid-14th century.
