| Obverse description | Central field features a decorative geometric interlace or rosette ornament enclosed within a square cartouche, a characteristic device employed on late Golden Horde coinage. Above the cartouche, the royal title in Arabic script occupies the upper register of the field. The remaining portions of the field are filled with the ruler's honorific legend reading 'Sultan al-Adil Aziz Shaykh, may God perpetuate his reign,' disposed in multiple lines. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hammered production typical of the Jochid mints of the mid-fourteenth century. |
