Jabbar Berdi was a son of Tokhtamysh who seized power during the catastrophic fragmentation of the Golden Horde following Timur's invasions — a period so unstable that multiple khans were issuing coinage simultaneously from competing mints. His reign lasted roughly two years before he was killed in 1416, making this dang one of the scarcer products of that chaotic interregnum. The Hajji Tarkhan mint, modern Astrakhan, remained one of the few functioning silver-striking facilities in the western steppe during this collapse.
