Obverse description Multi-line Arabic legend filling the field, reading 'Sultan the Highest Chekreh' with the AH date 817, struck in a bold, somewhat angular Naskh-influenced script typical of late Golden Horde coinage. The inscription is arranged within an implied cartouche, with individual words distributed across the flan in three or four horizontal registers. Pellet ornaments punctuate the legend. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with characteristic hammer-struck surface texture and areas of flat strike at the margins.
