Berdi Beg ruled the Golden Horde for less than two years before being murdered in 1359 — almost certainly by his own brother Kulpa, who then seized the throne and was himself killed within months. His death triggered the so-called "Great Troubles," a dynastic implosion that saw over two dozen khans claim the throne in the following two decades. Coins from his reign are consequently limited in number, and Saray al-Jadida issues carry a tighter date range than most Jochid types.
The Sagdeeva 281 attribution places this squarely among the documented but scarce terminal issues of his rule.
