Obverse description Central field occupied by a four-line Arabic legend in bold naskh script, reading the Shahada ('There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God') in the upper two lines, followed by the royal titles 'al-Sultan al-Adil' (the Just Sultan) and 'Abdallah Khan' in the lower lines. The inscription fills the flan to its irregular margins, with no border or decorative framing visible. The lettering is deeply struck in high relief, characteristic of mid-14th-century Golden Horde hammered coinage. A small decorative lattice or geometric ornament is visible in the upper right quadrant of the field.
