| Reverse description | Central field bearing a four-line Arabic legend in naskh script, with the mint formula occupying the central and lower registers. The uppermost line reads 'Duriba' (struck/minted), followed by 'Yangi Shahr al-Mahrusa' (the mint name, meaning 'New City, the Well-Guarded'), and the AH date in Arabic numerals, given as either 765 or 766. The inscription is boldly engraved in high relief on an irregularly shaped flan, consistent with Golden Horde hammered silver production. The die is slightly off-center, as is typical for this series. |
