| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a four-line Arabic legend executed in a bold, slightly compressed Naskh script typical of Golden Horde silver coinage. The inscription reads 'al-Sultan / al-'Adil / 'Abdallah Khan / khallada mulkahu' (The Sultan / the Just / Abdallah Khan / may his reign be perpetual). The lettering is raised in high relief against a flat, unadorned field, with no decorative border or marginal legend. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, characteristic of the hand-struck hammered technique employed at Golden Horde mints in the late fourteenth century. |
