| Reverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold, angular script, arranged horizontally across the flan within a beaded or plain inner border. The legend, characteristic of Ilkhanid-influenced coinage, occupies the majority of the reverse field. Additional marginal inscriptions in Arabic script run around the periphery of the coin, partially off-flan due to the irregular hammered planchet. The overall composition reflects the epigraphic style typical of Shah Arghunshah's issues from Badakhshan. |

Arghunshah ruled Badakhshan as a Mongol-appointed shah during the twilight of Ilkhanid dominance over the region, and his coinage reflects that precarious vassalage — locally struck but ideologically tethered to a collapsing imperial structure. The five-year window of his reign corresponds almost exactly to the final phase of Ilkhan Öljaitü's consolidation, when peripheral governors were asserting just enough independence to mint in their own names without openly defying the center.
Album 2014 remains sparsely documented in trade, with confirmed specimens appearing rarely enough that die studies are essentially impossible at present.
