背面描述 Central field bearing the name and titles of Ilkhan Arghun in Mongolian script, arranged in multiple horizontal lines across the flan. The legend reads the royal titulature identifying Arghun as the ruling Khan. The script is rendered in the Uighur-Mongolian tradition characteristic of Ilkhanid administrative and monetary usage. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hammered dirhams of this period and region.

附加信息

Arghun Khan's Georgian issues were struck at Tiflis during his reign and occupy an unusual position in Ilkhanid numismatics — produced for a predominantly Christian vassal population under a Mongol ruler who himself flirted seriously with Buddhism and maintained active diplomatic correspondence with European powers, including Pope Honorius IV and Philip IV of France, seeking a military alliance against the Mamluks. That alliance never materialized.

The Tiflis mint operated under Georgian administrative oversight even as Ilkhanid monetary authority prevailed, a pragmatic arrangement typical of Mongol indirect rule in the Caucasus.
