| Obverse description | Central field occupied by three horizontal lines of Kufic Arabic legend arranged concentrically within the coin's interior. Surrounding the central text panel, a further circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs along the inner border. The outermost zone is defined by a pair of concentric circles whose circumferences are intermittently linked by small connecting rings, forming a distinctive decorative frame. The entire design is purely epigraphic, devoid of figural or symbolic imagery, in keeping with the aniconic reform coinage established under the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik. The striking is irregular in shape, typical of hammered production at provincial mints. |
