| Reverse description | Central field displays a three-line Kufic inscription stating 'Allah is One, Allah is Eternal, He begetteth not neither is He begotten,' a quotation from Surah Al-Ikhlas (112). This central text is enclosed within a single linear circle, with a marginal Kufic legend around the perimeter giving the mint name Sijistan and the regnal year, all contained within a beaded outer border. The die work is typical of provincial Umayyad silver coinage, with the broad, flat flan characteristic of hammered dirhams from the eastern mints. |
