The entire design is purely epigraphic, with no figural imagery, framed by concentric beaded and rope borders typical of early Umayyad reformed coinage. A marginal legend in Kufic carries a Quranic verse (Quran 30:4–5) reading 'To God belongs the command before and after, and on that day the believers shall rejoice in the victory of God.' The design is entirely epigraphic, enclosed within concentric beaded borders, with no figurative elements, consistent with the reformed Umayyad coinage introduced under the caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan.
