| Obverse description | Central field bears the shahada in three lines of Arabic Kufic script, reading 'There is no god but God alone, He has no partner.' An inner marginal legend names the mint and year of striking, identifying the coin as struck at Maysan, while an outer marginal legend in Kufic carries the Quranic verse of proclamation (Quran 9:33). The entire design is purely epigraphic, with no figural imagery, framed by concentric beaded and rope borders typical of early Umayyad reformed coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, characteristic of hammered production. |

| Reverse description | Central field displays four lines of Kufic Arabic script bearing Surah Al-Ikhlas (Quran 112): 'God is One, God is Eternal, He neither begets nor is begotten, and there is none comparable unto Him.' A marginal legend in Kufic carries a Quranic verse (Quran 30:4–5) reading 'To God belongs the command before and after, and on that day the believers shall rejoice in the victory of God.' The design is entirely epigraphic, enclosed within concentric beaded borders, with no figurative elements, consistent with the reformed Umayyad coinage introduced under the caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan. The flan shows slight irregularity and die wear typical of provincial hammered silver issues. |
