Reverse description Central field displays a three-line Arabic Kufic legend arranged horizontally, naming the Prophet Muhammad and asserting the regnal title of the issuing ruler, al-Mundhir billah, in the characteristic Taifa period format. The field is flat and aniconic. A marginal legend encircling the central text zone carries the mint and date formula, partially legible on this worn and irregularly shaped flan. The die engraving reflects the declining technical standards of provincial Andalusian minting in the mid-eleventh century, with somewhat compressed and crowded letterforms.
