Reverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in Naskhi script arranged in horizontal registers, likely containing the Shahada or a portion thereof along with the Abbasid caliph's name or regnal titles of al-Muzaffar Yusuf I. The legend is framed by a beaded inner border with a further concentric circular marginal inscription in Arabic. The flan is irregular and slightly wavy at the edges, as is characteristic of hammered Rasulid silver dirhams. Surface shows natural oxidation and wear consistent with prolonged circulation in medieval Yemen.
