正面描述 Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic inscription in naskh script reading the royal titulature of Sultan al-Muzaffar Hajji I: 'al-Sultan al-Malik al-Muzaffar Sayf al-Dunya wa-l-Din Hajji'. The legends are arranged in three horizontal registers across the flan, with bold raised lettering characteristic of Mamluk hammered silver coinage. The coin exhibits an irregular, slightly clipped flan typical of mid-14th century Mamluk dirhams. No figurative imagery is present, consistent with Islamic numismatic convention.

附加信息

Al-Muzaffar Hajji I ruled the Mamluk Sultanate for less than two years before being deposed and killed by his own amirs in 1347 — one of the shorter and more violently concluded reigns in a dynasty not short on political violence. His removal was engineered largely by Yalbugha al-Yahyawi and other senior commanders who found him pliable enough to install but too erratic to control. Coins from the Damascus mint under his name are correspondingly scarce, the window of issue compressed by the brevity of his tenure.
