Reverse description The reverse presents a central area filled with multiple horizontal lines of Arabic kufic script within a beaded or linear inner circle, carrying the mint name Madinat Sabta (City of Ceuta) and regnal information referencing al-Mu'tali Yahya. A marginal legend in Arabic script encircles the design, following the coin's rounded edge. The flat, irregular flan and the bold but somewhat crudely struck inscription are characteristic of hammered Taifa-period dirhams. The field shows minor die wear and flatness typical of this series.
