Reverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskhi script arranged in three horizontal registers, naming the sultan with his full titulature. The legend reads the royal titles and name of Sultan al-Malik al-Mansur Sayf al-Dunya wa'l-Din Qalawun al-Salihi. A beaded border frames the inscription, and the flan shows the characteristically irregular outline typical of hand-hammered Mamluk dirhams struck at the Cairo mint during the reign of Qalawun.
