Reverse description The reverse presents a multi-line Kufic inscription in the central field proclaiming the Prophetic mission and citing the reigning Abbasid caliph al-Mahdi along with the name of the official Nusayr. The text is arranged in four to five horizontal lines within a ruled inner circle, following the canonical Abbasid dirham format established under the coinage reform. A circular marginal legend encircles the central field, carrying the Quranic verse from Surah al-Tawba (9:33) in fine Kufic script. The coin's surface shows characteristic patination and minor porosity typical of circulated silver dirhams of the late 8th century.
