| Reverse description | Central field divided into horizontal registers of Kufic Arabic script enclosed within a plain inner circle, with a marginal legend encircling the entire field. The inscriptions record the name and titles of the Hammudid ruler al-Ma'mun al-Qasim, along with the mint and date formulae standard to Andalusian Taifa dirhams. The marginal legend runs continuously around the inner circle. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, consistent with hammered silver coinage of the early 5th century AH. The Kufic script is boldly struck with characteristic angular letterforms of the Iberian tradition. |
